Horley, in Surrey, is one of the nearest towns to Gatwick Airport, which means travelers often stay in this town. Certainly for those who are travelling abroad from Gatwick Airport early in the morning then Horley is one of the places that should be on your shortlist.
In this article we take a look at some of the accommodation that is available to stay in when visiting Horley.
1. Gainsborough Lodge – Conveniently located just 5 minutes drive from the airport and this used to be a house in Edwardian times but it’s been expanded and now offers thirty guest rooms. For those who are travelling abroad from the airport they also have a long term car park where one’s vehicle can remain until your return. Plus from 9 in the morning until 11 each night a courtesy bus service to the airport is offered.
2. Springwood Guesthouse – This can be found in a pleasant tree lined street and offers a place with wonderful elegant accommodation. Being on the outskirts of Horley you are only a short trip away from the centre of the town. Plus if using this as a base for exploring the areas surrounding Horley getting the train from its main railway station you can in fact being in London in just 35 minutes.
3. Glenalmond Guesthouse – This is another place to base yourself from which is formerly an Edwardian House. Inside you will find that this guest house has maintained many of its period features including a wonderful ornate pitched pine staircase.
4. Langshott Manor – Have a relaxing time before or after your flight and enjoy this hotel’s three acres of gardens. All rooms are maintained to a very high standard and certainly if you are looking for somewhere that offers you ultimate luxury for you to recover from your jet lag or just sit back and relax. The Manor has kept many of the original period features.
5. Skylane Hotel – This is a purpose built modern hotel, aimed at Gatwick passengers. Because of this, the hotel offers a long term car park for guests to use. And, of course, a shuttle bus service taking you to your terminal.
