Finding a Caribbean Cruise Ship for your Family

Keywords: Caribbean Cruise Ship

Years ago cruises were primarily for couples and a few singles. There are more and more families taking cruises together these days. To change with the times, many cruise ships have become more family friendly. They are now providing activities for children of all ages and other family amenities so the entire family will enjoy being aboard their ship. Though there are some cruise lines that haven’t quite come aboard in accomodating the family yet. You want to be sure that the Caribbean cruise ship you decide to book with will meet the needs of each member of your family for a more enjoyable experience. Here are some tips in helping find a Caribbean cruise ship for your family vacation.

The first thing to do is look for a Caribbean cruise ship that is designed with families in mind. A family friendly cruise ship will have a program for children of all ages with a wide variety of activities to keep them busy and entertained. Since your children are aboard a ship with nowhere to go this is very important. You don’t want them to become bored with nothing to do aboard ship.To give you an idea of how much the family is a priority on a particular cruise ship, look into the programs and activities the Caribbean cruise ship has to offer to children and families. A few other things you want to look into is how the ship handles infants and toddlers and if they provide babysitting.

Looking into the dining accomodations is our next tip. Many parents would rather not take their little ones into a dining room with gourmet fare every evening they are aboard ship. Family friendly cruise ships will have alternate dining arrangements for families with food that children will eat. Aboard ship there is usually a buffet restaurant. Here you will find a menu items that will please every member of the family. Some Caribbean cruise ships have programs that allow children to eat with their youth directors so mom and dad can enjoy the gourmet food in the formal dining hall a night or two.

It would be wise to do some research in order to find a family friendly Caribbean cruise ship so that the whole family will be able to enjoy their cruising vacation.

Convenient Connections from Continental Airlines

Written by zoe on Friday, January 23rd, 2009 in Travel Tips.

Continental 757 Takes off from Bristol Airport

Although UK’s Bristol Airport provides direct flights to only two US destinations many travellers are using the extensive Continental Airlines network to reach further destinations both within the United States and beyond.

The top five business traveller destinations from Bristol airport were: Houston, Chicago, Indianapolis, Atlanta and Cleveland during 2008.

The most popular destinations for leisure passengers during the same period were Orlando, Las Vegas, Boston, San Francisco and Tampa.

Continental airlines has a long history extending back over 70 years after having been formed, in 1934, by Walter T.Varney and Louis Mueller. In 1936 40% of the company was sold to Robert Six who went on to lead the company for an incredible 40 years. It was Robert Six who, in 1937, changed the company name to Continental Airlines and moved the company headquarters from El Paso to Denver in the same year.

During the war years Continental Airlines were responsible for the maintenance of B-17 flying fortresses and B-29 super fortresses. Their pacific experience led to the formation of Air Micronesia. It was during the 1970s that Continental airline’s list of services increased dramatically including the introduction of new routes from Los Angeles to New Zealand and Australia. Continental Airlines’ list of destination airports extends way beyond the boundaries of North America and includes over 500 airports worldwide.

The Continental Airlines service flying from Bristol to New York has made it easy for travellers to book onward flights. Around 50% of the travellers flying from Bristol have used the Continental airlines network to reach their final destinations after picking up a connecting flight in New York. Since its introduction in May 2005 the New York service has carried over 250,000 passengers.

The Continental airlines network makes planning and booking a business or pleasure trip completely hassle free. And the convenience of starting out from Bristol is, for many travellers, an added bonus.

For some great savings always book your Bristol airport parking space in advance. And why not take advantage of one of the many excellent Bristol airport hotels?

How To Make The Most Out Of Your Cruise Spa Vacation Deal

Written by zoe on Thursday, January 22nd, 2009 in Travel Tips.

There are so many advertised cruise spa vacation deals on the Internet and in newspapers, that one would have a difficult time assessing which are more advantageous. Many spa resorts give great cheap cruise spa vacation deals during the off-season but they also create better deals during vacation season to attract more clients.

Cruise spa vacation deals sometimes have different rates on weekends and weekdays. There is no difference in the spa’s service for weekdays and weekends but they expect more people on weekends, which is why they also lower their prices on weekdays to entice the others that they cannot accommodate on weekends to stay on other days.

Other booking options may also yield a discount depending on what airlines you get. Many spas have collaborations with airlines regarding clients who use them both. Some cheap cruises give discounted airline rates while some spas give freebies. These are usually bundled together to create more lucrative spa vacation deals for both the spa resort and the travel.

Booking in advance might also get you better spa vacation deals than booking a few days before your intended travel date. Many spas give preference to those who book their treatments in advance but at the same time penalize those who miss them. Make sure that you understand the implications of booking in advance. The spa usually warns those who book in advance regarding missing the booking and giving short notice to change the booking.

Some spa vacation last minute cruise deals may seem very beneficial to the clients but in actuality, many are just the same as getting the treatments off the rack. Thoroughly research the spa that you wish to enter to be able to get the most out of your spa vacation deals. There are a lot of promos that may be hidden or not duly promoted.

UFO sightings over Stansted Airport

Written by zoe on Wednesday, January 21st, 2009 in Travel Tips.

Old files have been released by the Ministry of Defense regarding information about possible UFO sightings, and one of the files contains information about Stansted Airport.

Stansted Airport had seven calls from the public on June 30th 1990 after they all saw a strange oblong object in the sky around 2.40am.

One person that saw it was a member of the RAF while fishing with his uncle, why they were fishing at 2.40am is not known to me, but he described the object as having “an oblong front, lit up with searchlights, flat around the back with two red lights to the rear”, he also said that it had “no engine noise” even though he said that it could have been no more than 200 yards from him.

When the man got questioned by the police, he said it was “just sitting there over the top of me, no noise. It sat about 10 minutes, the lights went out and then it disappeared.”, he also claimed that “It didn’t shoot off - it just disappeared”.

The member of the RAF was one of the seven who called the airport that night, and he called to see if anything strange had happened, he was informed that he had been the 7th person to phone the airport that night about the possible sighting.

The sighting report was submitted to the Civil Aviation Authority at Gatick Airport but no further action was taken.

This is just one of the files released by the MoD containing information about possible UFO sightings between 1986 and 1992. However, the chairman of British UFO Research Association, Robert Rosamond, has said that he doesn’t believe that any of the files released actually contain any sitings, he said that every one of them could be explained: “Some are everyday like aircraft, military or civilian, or astronomical phenomena like shooting stars,”.

So, are we alone in the universe? or is it just a military aircraft, I’ll go with option B.
